Phila

Phila is one of the designs I developed during the Zuiver x ELLE Decoration Scholarship, for the Zuiver collection.

For the Scholarship I stayed with one of Zuiver's producers in Belgium for a month, to see and experience the whole process of creating a commercial textile product.
Whilst being in this to me new environment, I got very much inspired by the possibilities within the production facility, but even more so
by its (industrial machines') restrictions!

The few colours available existed out of two different materials: a thin matt and a thicker shiny material.The two needed to be carefully mixed in order to create a comfortable and visually even texture. The process led to two beautiful colourways:
A warm and natural Terra, and a fresh but calm Blue.
The shape was challenging to produce, but is designed to balance and soften the straight lines within the modern home's architecture and therefore create a welcome and inviting atmosphere.
